I heard they're outsourcing all the engineering to India
Do you really think this is going to happen??
I used to work in Wyoming, as well. CHK's bankruptcy was not only the right move at the right time, it was imminent years before CHK was bragging about Wyoming in 2018-2019 ish... and strategized prior to the onset of the pandemic (filings).
Some good people worked hard on those wells, in both D&C. I'd pass out for a full day when I got home and usually get sick. Lack of sleep, too much caffeine, and chest pains. Especially since I had to continue to have conversations with my manager on days off, which I did not initiate. Haha.
Every industry has their own problems, many crossover with other industries. Oil & gas, especially upstream, is a unique field and especially challenging. From roughneck to company man, everyone who has drilled in that core Douglas area of the PRB knows it's tough ground. I loved it. Don't get me wrong, CHK got in their own way, too. Most operators do in their own special ways (ask anyone who works for any other operator).
I understand the catharsis here; complaining and joking about work anonymously. I think it's fine and even funny sometimes. At the end of the day, be grateful you have the work.
Merry Christmas
Myopic? Let me get my thesaurus. I'm pretty sure the bankruptcy path was decided previous to the pandemic.
Myopic logic. There are other rigs in Wyoming besides us. Its obvious that plenty of other operators find value in Powder activity, although we do seem to spend more days and money on wells than others. Bankruptcy had more to do with the burden of legacy debt and the added shock of the pandemic, not just drilling in Wyoming. As if we were already drowning and Covid threw buckets of water on us.
Are you all really this stupid? Move to Houston?!?!? Lol! Why? And don’t you think if they could get $100 million for campus they would have already taken it?
Sometimes the ignorance on the board is so outrageous it’s beyond laughable.
If we made this move, we could sell off the campus and make a quick $100MM; that should open up enough capital for the Drilling team to sc--w the pooch on a couple more Wyoming wells.
Are there any houses big enough for my ego to fit in?
The Bible belt core of the company would not want to relocate and lose their Church activities ....
Wondering what type of move package the VPs get and bet some are already house hunting.
