It sure looks like Baker is the one struggling
Merry Christmas to everyone ex-BH who lost their job and now struggling. We are thinking of you.
Morale has been gone since GE came into play. It is a sh!t place to work. They don’t give a damn about their employees.
And now look they can’t even pay their employees when promised. They struggle paying their suppliers, whom they make wait up to 120 days, then they can’t figure out why there is a shortage of parts. They do nothing but sc--w over the good people.
Ppl in Bh more worried about where to sleep or eat tonight then bonus. Times are hard buddy. Some ppl homeless living on handout.
Feeling sorry for you guys not getting a bonus for this year because according to my boss I will be getting a very large boneus this year. I just hope it fits inside my honey p-t!
Morale is rock bottom in Chemicals! This Technology Leadership team is much worse than the previous one.
GE and BH got into bed but the honeymoon was over in 5 mins before GE kicked them out of bed. BH were found out and GE pulled them out of the drilling business. Then came all the backstabbing and name-calling but it was too late. The game was up and the dream team sank.
What causes poor morale? I think a sense that there. is a fundamental lack of fairness and opportunity. Bad hires, bad fires, bad managers, lack 9f appreciation for the effort, poor or inequitable compensation, undeserved promotions, D&I ...
I think it begins and ends with the wrong people in management.
It turns into a Gresham's Law of corporate management, bad people repel good people. Like thiose fu----g ex-GE turds. Soon you have one big fu---d up company.
@4zel Not from where I’m sitting, but I’ll admit that I don’t have the best seat in the house.
I personally don’t want to sit in a room with some whiner who thinks he was passed over because (in his view) he’s so awesome that the people around him just can’t handle it. I deployed with guys like that. Two days into a patrol they would start whining about sore feet and going back to the FOB to Skype their tr--p-stamped barracks rats.
The only “Karen” here is the guy whining about his denied sense of awesomeness.
Who gives a sh-t about your morale. Collect your paycheck, do as little as possible, wait until they offer you a severance to leave, go somewhere else. You don’t have to work if you don’t want to. If you’re gonna stay just ride it out and keep your mouth shut. This place is sinking, but they can still make payroll so who cares about the rest.
Fact is white males are the oppressed minorities now Karen.
@3oab Based on your comment I would have skipped over you too.
Just what the world needs; another self-styled PUA who thinks he’s irresistible to all women and that men are an oppressed minority.
Any director that can’t hide her bias with her own managers and team members she feels more comfortable with ki--s morale for everyone else.
I got skipped on business trips where I was needed simply because Im a young man and she was young too. I guess she felt that I was too irresistible and was apprehensive about feeling the need to be drilled properly. I wouldn’t have touched her with a 10 Ft pile much less a 8” wand.
Ok 7”
Any office that nicks charitable donations deserves to go down the toilet where they belong. Dregs of the industry and lowest rung on the social ladder. Good riddance to Aberdeen office.
Emmott has the best.....hahaha
Aberdeen damaged bh big time. Fights in the office, missing charity money , run off contracts after a few days, poor project management ability, services not invoiced, poor bit sales, etc etc. GE were right to close this office down.
@OP I don’t think anybody cares as long as they get their paycheck.
The only problem I ever had with BH (besides not being paid correctly or on time), was that everyone there brought their personal lives into work.
Howdy HR; in response to your survey question...My Morale is GREAT; better than it's ever been!
Sharing my "secret 10 steps formula" so others will also learn from my "best practices" to improve their morale:
- Show up really late 2. Drink free coffee that tastes like it came out of the bottom of a crude barrel 3. Go take a big dump till the whole floor ends up smelling like the chicken ranch 4. Take a long nap or watch p_rn when everyone else on the floor leaves due to the stench. 5. Sneak away with one of the attractive interns for a 2-hour "lunch" 6. Upon return, interact with a few of the geniuses (clowns) that are busy working on meaningless BS presentations 7. Walk over to manufacturing and tell a few off-color jokes 8. Return to the orifice & kiss the bosses' assets & tell them how smart they are 9. Throw up a little in your mouth for lying 10. Leave for the day claiming you are really sick as you are drooling
Bullying and an unwillingness to listen in Ofe. Easier to just tell managers what they want to hear and try and work it out. And if it doesn’t then it is what it is. It’s pretty bad
As was the case in 2015 it would be silly to pretend the company cares about morale among its workforce. They do not want happy employees and the expense of a severance package when they show them the door, they would rather you left on your own volition. Company has already let go 15000+ employees in the last 2 years, severance costs must have been eye watering and the company cannot cover its CEO’s annual wage in its quarterly profits, so it stands to reason they would try to turn the place into an earthly version of Mordor to get more people out the door on the cheap. It’s not a very subtle tactic (especially with the current oil price) but my advice is to paint a s*** eating grin on your face and ride it out till HR tap you on the shoulder. Remember to mention any compliance and HSE violations you may have been witness to at your consultation.
Really unhappy employees can damage a company aberdeen is a good example
While morale is in the toilet this company will never succeed. Unhappy employees are a plague on profit.
I used to enjoy coming to work for years, I would complain about things but still came. Now it’s just get up and come for the bad coffee and see the few friends that are still around.
It’s difficult to expect a good morale when the industry alone doesn’t lend for it to be any good. It wasn’t like that before, but definitely more the case now.
It’s cut-throat because it is. You work there because you have to and that alone makes your relationship with work like a bad marriage. One where one partner wants out, but really feels pressured to stay. The employee feels there may be something better, and the employer because it sees someone younger that may easily drop their faithful partner of so many years for that younger employee.
Face it, you’re still there because you haven’t found anything yourself. Your employer is also actively working on a list of critical and key employees and that blockhead leader of yours might leave you off of that list in order to get rid of you during the next round of layoffs. Why keep good talent around? The higher ups may notice them and get rid of the manager. Better to lose the competition in order to hold their seat.
Working at Baker can be like a bad marriage. It’s also like the Mafia
What’s that
