Changing EIN for W-2s in 2022

I received an email that the issuing EIN will be changing for 2022. Seems innocent enough, but could it be getting different units in order for a sale or a spin-off? I’m not from HR though I wish I would have majored in HR, but hindsight is 20/20.

Between the announcement of the real estate issues and the new EIN number something is definitely up and it doesn’t smell Rosey

With Change program our bank account codes will change and I think it’s just an effect of overall change. Lots of outsourcing and combining things will change things like money.

It's all a tax savings issue. Only certain company codes in the US will have sales and marketing (aka Go To Market) staff. All US employees are in US company codes.

I wouldn't trust anything this company does except to get my paycheck on time.

Part of a tax savings initiative, moving employees into a company that isn't technically in the United States?

Well we have so many HR Ladies (and Men) who troll this board, maybe they can be more explicit about the EIN.

Reasons for why a new EIN would be needed, such as the following:

Structure change
Ownership change
Corporations with a new charter
Sole proprietors going through bankruptcy proceedings
A subsidiary of a corporation
Statutory merger leading to a new corporation

With all the acquistions that were done over the years, maybe that little acquired company is finally fully a part of TR.
