Thread regarding VeriFone layoffs

Where are the owners now...?

Like the Executive at the head said when he arrived , down the road in few years will be time to look at the approach. What about now?

Tired of 13 max slides per simplistic deck? Or tired of a management that is still not understanding the context? Why is no one buying Verifone , as there are a lot of efforts on this approach?

Services , services, services.... yes . But who wants to buy a payment terminal manufacturer now? The former Ingenico is for sale, worldpay is much bigger than Verifone and Pax is busy with the FBI... Even the Taiwanese Castles is not finding a buyer... So it is time to explain to top people that a niche market protected by PCI PTS is not like a CableTV box like they were used to.

Nobody is stupid enough to enter the market of payment terminal right now, and any id--t getting in it would have better targets than Verifone: Ingenico, Pax, ...

So now time to say that the strategy did not work.

Last point with major tech experts and customers gone (let s not talk about support people shall we) , how is life now?

Hapoy holidays and keep looking for a buyer.

Pulli ran Verifone into the ground. Great job.

CEO quoted in the press late last year saying that “Verifone will not be going public again anytime soon”. But I have it on good authority that FP are looking for a buyer in 2022.

FP thought it would be a cake walk. Time is ticking for an exit. The team brought in did not understand the fundamental problems to fix Verifone. They had opportunity to revamp the software and enable recurring value added services revenue, they decided to stick with decades old software. Exit options are limited now. Most likely would be an IPO, to at least get the investment out.
