Enjoy your time off knowing you did as good a job as any CMO could do at Teradata. You put lots of lipstick on the pig. Even renamed her and put a dress on her. But customers can still smell her and that gives it away. If HA could turn the pig into a lion or tiger TDC may have a fighting chance but it’s genetically impossible…

- e. was the wrong guy for the job. He viewed marketing as something an advertising agency does: pithy slogans, evocative images, highly produced videos, etc. What Teradata needed was a product led marketing executive: thought leadership content, champion of the customer pov, and for god sake fluent in the product and value proposition. Innovation isn’t the sole domain of HA or SB.
Totally agree with previous post. ME was doing all he could but with the inexperience and poor perspective on the ELT he became the outcast. The new CMO is in lock step with SM and HA....downward spiral accelerating.
Why are we even talking about CMOs at Teradata? Who cares? Marketing is the last of our problems. We need a real cloud solution.
Continuing the status quo and going through the motions while shifting the "rebranding strategy" to multiple third parties is hardly commendable. Get rid of all the blowhard "executives," and middle managers. It's too late, though, you can't buy back 5 years worth of wasted time and "effort."
ME was a di----t. And his diversity hire replacement will be a disaster. Get your popcorn ready.
He was smart, worked hard, and was the first real CMO Teradata ever had. But he was the wrong age, race, and gender. HA and NC used that to drive him out. SM let’s those two call the shots. Too bad since he was one of the best on the ELT.
