Thread regarding Devon Energy Corp. layoffs

Deep Greed Runs Rampant

I'm pretty pi---d off. These guys across the industry, at Devon in particular have been ripping off landowners for many year stealing millions and even billions of dollars from the rightful owners. They use every trick they can think of. Anybody else know about these ba----ds and how they take and steal? Join me, I'm the thistleblower.

The wastewater skim sounds like how old Hammy got his start not the ivory towered devon

This really happened: Devon was pumping produced oil to their saltwater disposal wells. They disguised the oil as "wastewater". Then they separated the oil from the water in the wastewater tanks and sold the oil to a crude gatherer thereby scamming the mineral rights owner. Very creative and another way to avoid paying royalties! True story, you can read about it yourself.
Anybody else heard of deceptions like this? We could use some help. royaltyunderpayments@gmail.com

Mr. Hard Pills to Swallow- I beg to differ! There is a grand scheme under foot just not any different from big tobacco and big pharma. Imagine the little things you know about from your company, then all the things from your company which you don;t know about, then imagine every oil company doing all these things. Dollars are huge. Imagine the impact on state and federal lands in New Mexico alone, let alone Colorado, Wyoming, Pennsylvania, or offshore GOM.

Whistle blow - there is no info. Companies do not underpay royalties by their interpretation of the contracts. It takes some litigation and a judge interpretation to the contrary, then appellate will probably over turn, then Supreme Court coin flip because of poorly written contracts. Long story short, take what info you have to an attorney, file suit and hope the court system interprets things the way you do. There is no grand scheme to under pay royalty owners by big oil. Your Ted talk is a waste of time.

Thanks for posting Lite and Whistle Blown. The $6.15 million Devon settlement is a small example. These companies cheat billions of dollars from private landowners, and from federal and state governments. Like the tobacco settlement, the asbestos settlement, the oxycontin settlement, oil and gas royalty cheating is rampant. There is a list of bad actors such as:
Chesapeake
Devon
Anadarko/Oxy
Pennzoil
Valero
Republic Resources
Murphy Oil
BP*
Cimarex Cabot*
Marathon Oil
If you have been laid off from any of these oil companies, or other similar oil companies, go to the Thistleblower anonymous website. Get some payback.

Sounds like the case has been settled and you’re beating a dead horse?

Devon just settled a False Claims Act suit for $6.15MM for royalty underpayments and has had a slew of other suits where they've been found guilty. Whether it's from deducting production expenses and adding fees to royalty payments, price skimming, paying royalties on lower-priced crude oil, over-estimating reserves to boost the balance sheets and drive up stock $$$. They pull every trick in the book.

If they won't respect us we'll make them. A $6.15MM settlement is what these guys will be wishing they could settle for here soon. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Just need someone willing to jump to the dark side or in this case the right side. It won't continue.

Ghost of Wide Track "what you allow is what will continue", interesting quote...does it mean anything? We have a lot of information about how the oil companies rip off mineral royalty owners but we need some insiders to help us give our information context if you can help! Thistleblower
