Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Is management allergic to new ideas or what?

Whenever new employee comes in, talented, enthusiastic, with a lot of desire to work, either he very quickly leaves this company or TD finds a way to get rid of him.

From all this we can deduce that the management is actually allergic to new ideas and does not want ambitious and smart people. Perhaps they think they might jeopardize their own job in some way?

So use of the word "him" implies it only affects men? I'm thinking the OP is a female in a lofty position having a flog

Unfortunately, management has been allergic to new ideas since the advent of the bynet. For the last 5 decades, the company has been living off of that cash cow, with no real further innovation. Now they either cannot hire or layoff the best people because they need to reduce payroll to compensate for paltry revenue.

There probably is no incentive or time for managers to do anything more.

You don't get to last place in an easy race (analytics has been hot for many years) with sensible thinking and good management.
