It is a pity that it is difficult to know the emotional intelligence of the person to be hired. I have worked at Citrix for several years and our Country Manager is the most toxic person I have ever worked with. He is a person who offends and psychologically mistreats all the people around him. But everyone supports him because "he is like that." It is incredible that people who are assumed to have a certain intelligence leave much to be desired in their behavior. I have always thought that this behavior is a product of their frustrations.

It's not enough to feel toxic, you have to be permanently. In any case, it is not easy to be toxic. First you have to be emotionally illiterate and have a feeling of inferiority. If later you add a lack of empathy, insecurity, etc., you will have more possibilities to be promoted.
Sometimes I feel toxic, but not enough to get promoted. Are there any strategies you recommend?
True. If you saw the promotions patterns in last few cycles, you could easily see that people who were the most toxic in the company, got promoted. Barring few who truly deserved the promotions, majority were the ones who only are good at cheap politics, back bi-----g, self promotion, misrepresenting others contributions - but they got rewarded by incompetent leadership.
No wonder why we see a failing company today.
Citrix leadership loves toxic people. It’s like you can’t get anywhere in Citrix unless you keep up the toxic environment. Where is HR? Citrix has a serious culture problem but HR does nothing about it. Oh that’s right HR is corrupt.
