Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

The best incentive to quit

The start of the holiday season has been truly eye-opening for me. Instead of things getting better and people kinder, it's the exact opposite. I'm sick and tired of being treated with zero respect by both my coworkers and managers and customers. I guess I'll take advantage of the current job market and if nothing else, take abuse someplace that pays better.

The only thing “Macy’s” cares about is real estate. This whole “fashion” facade is just a dirty money laundering system to make the board rich!! They don’t care about you, your family or mental health…they care about PROFIT.

It's easier to point out social issues outside the company than address those within, not to mention so much cheaper. Macy's is one of the last major retailers to begin raising wages, Walmart, Target, Amazon, and even regional department stores have moved to $15 to $17 an hour minimum rates years ago, Macy's sends a note to everyone saying wait until May next year, its coming. Of course by then we will have eliminated all of the seasonal people, closed 10 stores, and trimmed back regular staffing after X-mas like we always do. None of these folks will see a dime, much better to wait until May 2022.

How about the extra pay on weekends but not all the time? So much cheaper than actually giving employees a raise. The only social welfare issues that we are really concerned with is our stock price and the senior teams bonus program criteria. The retail and service industry has a lot of opportunities right now, better to take advantage on your timeline than wait for Macy's to choose to do the right thing.

The stores have been a dumpster fire for a long time. All of the woke stuff gives this company an easy pass to take the focus off of the real issues.

Macys only cares about outide the box issues that have nothing to do with them meanwhile they gaslight their employees from day one.

Woke company is woke. Virtue signaling to the max. I like the stock though right now, but would never shop there for anything other than fragrance.

Macy's doesn't care about the welfare of their employees yet they try painting themselves as the leader in retail which is laughable. If people aren't being recognized for their hard work then it is best to seek employment elsewhere. Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side.
