Return to Office

Mike Pulli has demanded that everyone return to the office effective January 31st. Five days per week. No hybrid. Only gave one week’s notice. Going to lose a lot of good people.

He is not. Good luck with that.

Fiserv required four days in the office Monday through Thursday. And Himanshu was in the process of removing 2/3rds of all remote employees left in the division he was in charge of. He is also currently closing down satellite offices with the plan of only having major offices. Maybe that is Fiserv's CEO's plan and Himanshu will be different. But considering that Himanshu lied to our faces when he said that he wasn't going to close my office down, I just though you should know what type of person you will be dealing with.

Maybe he will change when he takes charge of your company.

CEO (was) "moved on" without further explanation.
There are plenty of remote employees.

It just does not make sense for a modern "tech" company to demand that every employee in every role be warming a seat in an office.
It so needs to be on a case-by-case, role-by-role basis and up to the direct manager to decide that.
Numbers are good ? check
Job is getting done ? check
Manager happy ? check
End of story.

Manage your team as you see fit and remains productive.

The stand-in CEO was high up in FP ranks and seemed very reasonable and understood this precisely. Let's just hope the new person just announced will be the same.
