Some of it is borderline harassment. I am not a kid and I don’t need to be babysat.

Sounds like sixtwoone.
There are exceptions to every rule. I have seen some good managers over the years but unfortunately they have left the company. The upheaval in our store is definitely due to the store leader. He is the reason the good people have left. In our store all you have to do is kiss up to the store leader and you are thenon the “favorites list” which means you don’t need to work, you get privileged days off, you receive cakes for special occasions etc, etc.
the non favorites are always called upon to work globally all over the store, not given weekends off, no special cakes etc etc. it is a totally toxic work environment.
I manage very wisely thank you very much. The company has provided me and every other manger a tablet that I can use and access all I need to and be on the selling floor helping customers coaching and getting a pulse of my business while working with my colleagues by closing sales doing operational tasks and engaging with our customers.
I am very hands on and have always been. If I wanted an office job I would have one….
I can not speak for all managers only myself. I’m sorry for those that do not have a manager who is working and involved. Your Fingers should be pointed at the store manager who is allowing managers to do nothing and hang out in offices. The store manager sets the pace and the expectations of the store. It starts with them. I Have had bad store managers and great ones through my years. No matter what i continue to do what I always do and do not fall into traps or let lazy behavior of others who are getting away with it distract me. It’s all about your mindset and goals.
LMAO! To the manager who is supposed to be “managing wisely”
From my observation the managers do a whole lot of nothing. You cannot learn the business sitting in your offices all day. Yes eyeball a report briefly and then go out and learn on the floor. Oh but wait that would mean physical work and we all no most managers at Macy’s do noting. The youngsters they are hiring need a wake up call as how the world works. Go ask any seasoned sales associate what is going on in their department and they would have more information that is meaningful to the business than you scholars will ever learn from a computer screen.
My advise get off your duff, roll up your sleeves and break a sweat.
You response sums up everything we associates know about the management. The managers think that are better than everyone and sadly the managers are clueless. They should stop the and deceit.
The managers are the ones on their phones and texting and going around shopping on the clock. And many captains who clock in like associates are always going to Starbucks on the clock and getting their little lattes. Nobody checks on them though especially now that’s it’s dead and there’s nothing to do, a lot of people just chilling and doing nothing getting free money.
Guess what sunshine?
We would not have to babysit you if you did what your job duties and responsibilities are.
I am in management to manage a business metric wise and grow profit for the company. My job is not to babysit grown adults to make sure your not texting hanging out in other departments or at Starbucks and taking 30
Minute clocked in breaks. I have better things to do with my time than babysit people like you. Grow Up
