We can all agree that Macys, specifically the store side, has been in a downward spiral for a while. Product assortment and quality has declined, covid slammed the economy, and staffing can be challenging. Sure there are a few glistening high volume stores in each division, but the majority of stores are empty, run down dumps with stained carpets and dusty shelves with colleagues that are so over worked and under appreciated they no longer care. It ultimately comes down to the pi** poor field and store leadership.
These managers, directors, and VP’s act like they walk on water and their sh** doesn’t stink. They walk sales floors, point fingers, and make decisions they have absolutely no logic or reasoning behind. Leaders that cant look beyond a computer screen or PowerBI report to see what is actually needed for the business. For some reason we continue to bow down to them and they take all the credit.
This forum gets a lot of traffic, especially since the mass furlough from the pandemic. Practically everyone I work with or have worked with visits this site weekly. I say it’s time to put the sh**y leaders on BLAST. It’s time for a REAL culture pulse survey. Post their name, position, location, etc. Share how terrible they are. Let everyone see how truly clueless, arrogant and disconnected your leader is. They cant fire us for for speaking our minds. They can barely staff a store fully without working with temp agencies.
