There has been a lot of role consolidation and elimination across the board, the learning curve and lapses become quite obvious when you just bulldoze your way through change management, as sadly appears to be the case all too often here...
Own your own career, they said..
Then promptly shoved those of us that remain into a useless generic role with a career path going nowhere.. yet I think I'm supposed to be grateful for not being riffed.. but really?!! It used to be that I could find some level of excitement and energy when undergoing changes here, the future always looked a little brighter than the past. I always felt valued and heard.
Now, after investing in what now feels like way too many years here, I can hardly stand working through each day, let alone each menial and repetitive task that has come to completely reshape my role, and I struggle daily to try and find reasons to stay and waste what is left of MY valuable time.
Save your creativity, curiosity and ambitions for a job that actually values those traits and earns your loyalty. Siemens has become a place to work, sadly - that's it. A pitstop on the way to doing something better and meaningful.
You obtain the quality that you reap, and retain the loyalty that you sow. Develop yourself and move on, that's how you actually own your own career here.

DI SW is the new Siemens.
This year the US IT staff had a RIF that eliminated 40% of staff. This was the case globally as well. Focus of RIF was any infrastructure staff which leaves only user support and ERP support. Consolidation of ERP SAP to one instance per each business (DI SI ENERGY Healthcare) will allow DI SW to operate the DI SW ERP SAP and simplify the carve out of all other businesses. Per Roland Busch "Siemens is a software company" Thus each business has been told they have their own IT departments.

“What Siemens company? All of them or just, for example, Siemens Energy?”

That’s what I’m wondering about too. Because from what I can see at DISW a lot of hiring is going on, both full time employees and contractors.

From the OP: “Siemens plans to offshore more US jobs to India through 2024.”

What Siemens company? All of them or just, for example, Siemens Energy?

Just heard down south management will be reduced at corporate and branch level consolidations through 2024. Trying to minimize those high paying salaries.

You are correct. We were told that our jobs would be offshored as part of this restructuring process, but it wouldn't happen for a year or so. So disappointing.

German balance sheet! Shareholder profitability means employee reduction.

Uncertain at this point? Probably more administrative positions and management cuts. The company is very management heavy!
