From my personal experience it does not matter how good you are at your work, it is much more important that you are someone's favorite. I would be able to understand that if the favorites were chosen according to their achievements, knowledge, skills, but that's not the case here. This tells me only one thing, that our leadership, our management, is not interested in the future of this company at all. Why so much favoritism?

toxicity and theft already happens daily at velo
Favoritism was my experience there as well. LOLed when my old leader lost their job.
100% agreed. some BUs (velo and its eni toxic managers) are more advanced in favoritism and racism than others. blatant racism. theft of bonuses and promotions.
Diversity is a good thing, when it's not forced.
But, ask this:
What external force has caused so many SV companies to simultaneously
push diversity with all the same jargon and similar initiatives?
This tells me only one thing, that our leadership, our management, is
not interested in the future of this company at all.
It didn't used to be this way.
