Anybody know when aramcons will start and take the professional verification exams?

It is a well known fact that the Saudi Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will never have to worry about this professional verification process. It is the overpaid US expats that need to be concerned.
The real test would be an IQ test
Saudi Aramco fools the government on the Iqamas when it comes to expats.
The exam is based on the occupation stated on your iqama and not your degree. Still, some occupations have changed so it will not be relevant to one's current job title.

A Batchelor of Arts degree does not mean it is a degree in "painting"

They need to test the overpaid expats in PSCM that are holding useless Bachelor of Arts degrees.
You perform a 30min theoretical test, yes all your profiency can be tested in 30 min, and later a practical that you can't imagine it.
You have 3 chances, pass it with a higher mediocre 67% to avoid deportation.
Good part, it's at employer charge, even should they allow time for training. Burocracy at your best.
And those who lost, their jobs will be go for locals, as part of Saudization, so you will see a target of maybe 5% who will received an impossible test.
At the end, Kingdom is ki----g the golden eggs goose by himself.

It appears to be a good system of weeding out the unskilled, if it was applied fairly, correctly and to all, which it won't be, so its impact will be marginal.
