What changes in the coming weeks?

I don't think anyone knows what changes will happen in February. Just saying....

I did hear a rumor that captains titles are going away and no more OVM titles. Very curious if this really happens and what it looks like for the store team.

When are the changes supposed to happen?

"Leads" are NOT being brought back. Not a single job title has the word lead in it. We are adding CAPTAINS, not cutting them. You might not have a Signing Captain any longer (Innovative pilot is being rolled out to everyone, no more Signing Captain) but that person, if doing a good job, will be moved to another Captain assignment. Captains are being allocated by volume and consistent across the stores. And we are getting three more than we currently have so this is an investment in the business.

I love when we eliminate captain positions. We demote the incumbent but don’t cut their pay so essentially we’re not saving money but losing leadership. It’s all @$$ backwards to look good for shareholders and to have a “plan” regardless of how unexecutable that plan might be or how often it may change. Same with the way in past years with the field leadership “cuts” (district/“division”/region)…positions were eliminated but new lateral positions were just created for those with friends higher up in the chain.

I was told the same about OVM’s and the support team. I was also told that we’re losing the signing/pricing captain and will only have 1 merch captain. Nothing about getting leads. I wish were. Having 1 person to help on 3 floors is challenging.

I have this info confirmed from a OVM. But that support is changing, that the line between support and selling is gone and both can do each others jobs now. They are bringing back leads. And OVM is going away and they are splitting up the job rolls.

They didn’t get rid of full time but they lessened the hours so all the full timers who were getting 5 days before are now getting 4 days 27-32 hours instead of the 35-40 hours they used to unless you work in union store. Union stores stick to the collective bargaining agreements. Haven’t seen any other changes or heard or them. They might make the announcements next week for other changes.
