Wondering if anyone who left Shell voluntarily, did you regret your decision?
assuming you are still in this board

I do regret that I left. I was operating personnel at a terminal and left 3 years before my original plan because my supervisor was the devil 👹 and constantly set me up to fail so he could make himself look important. Complaints to his boss and HR were a waste of time, so I retired. I’ve been gone 5 years now and my biggest regret Is that I didn’t fight harder and walked away.
In hindsight I regret not volunteering for a package before leaving. I didn’t have anything lined up yet at that point, so I really couldn’t … but my next job came within a few months of that package and I could have easily made that stretch if I had a crystal ball.
It’s almost always a mistake to leave Shell voluntarily with few exceptions.
@ all those talking about 3 weeks pay for every year of service.
While that sounds awesome and I'm sure some people got that in the last few years - they are only required to pay you up to 10 years, 1 week for each year. Per their global policy.
Don't get your hopes up. BVB is going to keep the other 2weeks of service for his daughters tuition/meal allowance
“True for the last few times it has been 3 weeks for every year severance with a max of 90 weeks but the problem now is with oil so high when will the next severance opportunity be? Probably not for a while in my opinion.”
Don’t underestimate the speed at which BvB is destroying the company, my guess is 18-24 months for another round of severance.

Severance is 3 weeks per year of service Plus vacation cashout. So for 10 yrs service, u get 30 week pay plus 4 week vacation carryover from last yr plus accrued vacation for this year.. Also if last day at work is say September then eligible for bonus... Per my understanding..
Severance is 3 weeks pay for every year of service
Shells severance policy is 10 weeks pay. Thats not "life changing". Unless other sites are offering more, I don't see why people are sticking around. You're Waiting on the inevitable, Shell is a dying company
The real winners are those laid off as their retirement was just coming up anyway. It was free money and lots of it that you would not have planned for.
Waiting for next severance package. I’m sure I will think about how much more money I could have made if I just stayed “a few more years”…but not being miserable has some value. My nightmare would be passing up a package and hitting my breaking point a few years later…looking back and saying I worked at a discount because I passed on the “money to leave.”
MY ADVICE - TAKE THE 401K CONTRIBUTION, THE VACATION TIME, IGNORE THE WOKE BS IT DOESNT REALLY AFFECT YOU, COLLECT YOUR PAYCHECK EVERY 2 WEEKS AND PUT IN YOUR TIME, NOT THAT EASY TO FIND A JOB PAYING WHAT SHELL PAYS - THE LONGER YOU STAY THE GREATER THE BENEFITS IN TERMS OF PENSION, HEALTHCARE, 401K BUILD.
Involuntary leaver here. Shell benefits are quite rich if you joined > 10 years ago. New people may get slightly above market compensation, but nothing spectacular.
I got similar benefits elsewhere, maybe slightly less, but health coverage is better given my situation.
But! Current state of Shell is cr@p, woke garbage every day. If you are a white male - consider yourself bottom tier.
Stick around, endure cr@p treatment, and if they kick you out with cash, don't look back. Leaving on your own can be full of regrets. Make it easy for yourself, wait till you are shown the door - then leave with no regrets.
GOOD LORD YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYDAY!
Care to elaborate? Might make me feel better about staying…
