Anyone hearing anything about layoffs coming out of HQ this week?

10% in our org
We know it is coming, listen to the audio leak… And, yes, we fired people before. I have been working here for a few years, and I have seen a lot of people who have been:
- fired on the spot (uncomfortable)
- forced to leave and then also been forced to tell coworkers it was for personal reasons (low)
- fired at the end of a long project because it was late (irrational)
- PIPed (IBMesque)
In short, the turnover Is high in my department…

The bad news = bring McKinsey in so exec mgmt can say this is what they told us to do and also pay them huge fees to be the scapegoat. Consultants don't know your business.
The good news = lots of business looking for talent. Don't wait to find out if you are a survivor because it won't be a good place anyway.
