Is there any chance there is somebody here who got to Microsoft through an acquisition? My company (Activision) is about to be acquired and I'd really like to get some input on what we might expect in the coming months. I'm worried that we might be looking at major cost cutting, and I'd like to know just how bad things are going to get.

Agree, it is not great. There’s no clarity on how integration works. I heard some recent acquisitions are hard to integrate into the Microsoft ecosystem and hence they fired multiple CVPs.
Activision is Microsoft's largest acquisition to date dwarfing LinkedIn by quite a bit. Unless you are currently an Activision exec, there will not be much of anything that changes if its handled the way LI was. Now if the rumored Meta (formerly Facebook) acquisition comes to pass, there will be some realignment eventually to get all metaverse and ads teams working together.
You typically have 24 months before any big changes roll in.
Most companies we do not require to change a lot.
