Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Stop whining

I hope the posts on this site are not indicative of the attitudes of TD folks in general, because frankly you all come across as a bunch of brittle misfits. If you are not happy here, move on. I've worked for two huge IT companies before landing here almost a decade ago. I left my previous employment because the environments there became intolerable. Not here yet. If it comes to that, I'm gone.

Remember, this fading company was created by a group of folks who had an idea for an amazing product. Unfortunately they worked for a bank. Banks blocked pursuing development of commercial products because banks were legally blocked from pursuing such activities. The folks with the idea didn't sit around whining about the state of affairs. The quit the bank and Got On With It. Ever heard of GOWI?

Ok Mr./Mrs. Happy at Teradata, please help us understand what is so great about working at Teradata. Please do not spew the hr bs; try giving us something tangible from your own mind minus the hr talking points. I left Teradata 4 years ago because it was so toxic and reading the posts here tell me it’s the same even with the new management.

I think this board is amazing! TD works hard on keeping existing employees so scared we keep quiet - Yammer is not an option since we know that leads to losing our job or become a target - Employee Surveys have proven not to be as anonymous as we thought (thanks EF). Here we can let the world know what really goes on, it's probably why OP's like this show up because ELT has no control over this site. Btw I'm glad the newbie who posted is so happy, I was happy too when I just started, and I hope you stay happy tbh and ever experience what the rest of us have felt the last 3 years.

I’m new here and so far this company is phenomenal. I was a little hesitant when looking at these boards before joining, but while I’m sure there are problems in some areas of the org, I can say it’s not throughout. I’ve managed to land in a great place with very competent leaders who are quite supportive. Im expecting great things here at TDC.
