Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Loss Prevention: the Real Heroes.

I just want to say, the greatest people in the world are those that worked Loss Prevention for TransformCo and before that, Sears Holdings. These heroes of retail deserve movies, tv shows, books, and secular evangelizing of their deeds. They did great work, and I hope 500 years from now, these Loss Prevention heroes will be remembered and revered.

I love you, Loss Prevention. I’ll always love you.

Whenever I need a good laugh, I go to this post. Hilarious. Funnier than Kimmel or Colbert.

Yes, you should kneel at the altar of LP. TransformCo is not long for the world, but LP alumni and supporters alike will write books and articles, and produce documentaries so that history will never forget Loss Prevention.

I get it. The LP folks can part the Red Sea and also they walk on water and can turn 2 fish & three loaves of bread into food that can feed thousands. Shall we start a new religion to honor them as well? We should all kneel at the altar of LP. Pretty soon you will all have to find a new job, however.

I saw some things me and my lp brothers will never forget defending the Hollywood CA store during the LA riots. Five of us held down defense of the store for over 36 hours until we had to surrender and radio in for airlift out of there. Luckily no lives were lost.

That's too bad. He deserves to lose at least that much.

In 2010 loss prevention uncovered a pump and dump stock scheme with mafia ties, that could have cost eddie 50 million had it not been stopped.

Yeah! In fact, Sales and Store Associates not doing a good job at getting customers to buy merchandise made Loss Prevention’s job MORE difficult!

You can keep people and suppliers from defrauding the stores. That’s Loss Prevention’s job. But. It’s on the Sales Associates to sell and transact the goods for customers.

Loss Prevention mitigates financial losses. But only Sales can generate revenue. Sears Holdings and TransformCo suffered because Sales and Store Associates didn’t do as good a job of getting customers to buy merchandise. If only they were as good at their job as Loss Prevention was.

@2skq+1eQFpzHD it's hard for one department to offset all the losses caused by incompetent and lazy associates.

If this department could really prevent loss, shouldn't the company be profitable?

Well it was literally the only part of the company that hit its metrics every year lol. If the rest of the company hit its goals, maybe they would be in better shape. I know for a fact that some people who post on here were fired for stealing SYWR points and redeeming them to get free stuff lol. During interviews, they would cry and try to claim they didnt know it was against policy and considered theft!

At my store loss prevention broke up a counterfeit money ring that was being used to fund terrorism in the middle east.

Were it not for the valiant efforts of the LP team there would be scant little merchandise left to liquidate.

No doubt in my mind that without loss prevention all of the stores would have closed a long time ago.

I prefer Scarlet O'Hara's

As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're are not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when its all over, I'll never be hungry again. No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat, or ki-l, as God is my witness I'll never be hungry again.
