Thread regarding The Hartford layoffs

Let me make this clear from the start, I've worked at several major insurance companies and this is still the best workplace of them all. However, I've noticed some negative trends in the last year or so that have me worried. The culture seems to be shifting, putting emphasis on competitiveness instead of cooperation. Also, people who work the hardest are getting overlooked for promotions in favor of people who are mediocre but well connected. These are just a few examples. I hope this trend doesn't continue. I don't want to leave Hartford but if I feel I need to, I will.
