Citrix Systems Inc. is laying off 80 workers at its Santa Clara campus.
The layoffs, which affect workers at the Florida company's former headquarters at 4988 Great America Parkway, are a part of a previously announced restructuring plan, company spokeswoman Karen Master said. Among those affected by the cuts are engineers, senior directors and other types of managers, according to a notice Citrix filed with California's Employment Development Department.
The workers will be employed through Jan. 18.
"In some cases, employees have been shifted to new roles where they will focus on our key or new investment areas," Master said. "In others, positions were eliminated to ensure we operate as efficiently as possible."
The restructuring will allow Citrix (Nasdaq:CTXS), which offers virtualization software, to improve its profit margins and position it for more predictable and profitable growth, Master said.
The layoffs come amid declining sales and profits for the company. In the first nine months of last year, Citrix's sales were down about 2.6% and its profit off about 48% from the same period in 2020.
In October, Citrix's then-CEO, David Henshall, resigned.
Last year, Citrix gave up 140,965 square feet of space at its former Santa Clara headquarters, according to a Business Journal report.
