I’m retiring… Ford will be in my rear view mirror.

If those that think they are the Masters of The Universe widest wet dreams come true and BEV’z take over, then Ford (like nearly everyone) will be relegated to a “brand” while in reality only one or two companies will be marking the actual vehicles - it is no coincidence that a primarily a manufacturer of electronics (Sony) displayed their own electric vehicle at CES recently.

So, the we brand of Ford will be sold and keep going, but Ford and most other manufacturers will cease actual manufacturing operations within the next ten years or so. It will be a very painfully slow process, but it is more likely to happen than not happen anymore.

Ford will probably never go away because they are so tight with the government. It's not about quality but politics. Much of Ford revenues are from vehicles purchased with taxpayer dollars to finance foreign operations.

Ford will get bought by another company. That’s all. They won’t stay a float by themselves.

Will Ford prosper? That would depends on many things, like culture, leadership, employee's moral, focus on quality, that are not currently in the company, and many other external factors like what the competition is doing and the global recovery.

No, I do not think Ford will get better. At least not in the short term. We have seen historically that Ford has lost market share worldwide. I believe it will continue to do so, especially after closing so many factories. Chinese players are getting stronger (after stealing the know how of the American and European companies) and will try to conquer the international markets (more competition).

Ford strength relies on the F-150 sales, but because of constrains in the production, GM sold more trucks (combining Silverado and GMC) than Ford in 2020. There are many disgruntled Ford (ex)employees that are moving to other brands as well. So far, all we have is the hype of the electric fleet, which hasn't translated into enough sales yet.

In short, there are many challenges ahead for all carmakers. This is the time to bring the best onboard, not to dismiss them because they have good salaries. This is the time of leadership, not of @ss kissers like JF. This is the time to focus on the strengths of the company, not competing on who is the wokest of all.

Personally? I don't really care what happens to the company anymore. I am just sorry for the Ford work force. At the end, I doubt that I (and most the NA employees) are going to be kept around long enough to see Ford diving into bankruptcy. At one point, I thought about retiring in this company. Now, I am not sure if I'll get to the end of this year.

Good luck everyone!

Who cares? Your predictions do not determine the Company's future.
