Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

I'm so nostalgic these days

It is only now that I am beginning to feel the effects of the stress that was inevitable due to this pandemic. More than anything in the world I wish the pandemic had never happened.
However, who knows if Macy's condition would have been better today even if the pandemic had never happened. What do you think?

Retail Dive just did an in depth story on Macy’s this week (Jan 2022) about the state of the company since the expansion from 2006 and it doesn’t paint a rosy picture for the future of stores outside of the coasts.

That is a strange way to show love!

I think that it is easy to become "nostalgic", but when I think back in time, I recall that retail wasn't all that sweet back in the day. It was hard demanding work. The challenges were different. You may have been brainwashed by the jingles they played over the sound system. You have to adapt to the new reality and do your best. If you are at Macy's another 10 years you will look back "nostalgically" back at this time.

When Macy's let go a lot of people in 2020, they spared those that were left the agony of a death by 1000 knives (or cuts). You did not have to watch people being let go over an extended period of time. Instead, it was more like a neutron (nuclear) bo-b blast.

It was only a matter of time that things got worse.
