Thread regarding Facebook layoffs

I am being offered an interview with FB for Data Scientist position

I was offered an interview in FB for Data Scientist position on numerous occasions by multiple recruiters in the last two years to the point I feel almost harassed with constant emails and Linkedin messages coming from various individuals. For two years I work as Data Scientist in a respectable company , enjoy working with my colleagues who besides being smart people are very reasonable individuals and I don't consider job change. Two and a half years ago when I was looking for a new job I had an interview with FB Boston . I thought the interview went well , I passed the coding portion successfully and in the last moment I was told that with great regret they have decided not hire me. That is fine with me as I found a job in a field in which I wanted to work for some time - Mathematical Modeling and Data Science. But then the constant Linkedin messages and emails from FB started asking me if I am looking for a new opportunities. I thought it was silly to ask me for new opportunity if I just started a new job but I replied politely on every email and message that I am not looking for a new job. But those messages continued and I stopped responding thinking they will go away. They keep pestering me. What is up with FB, why being so frantic about new recruits? Frankly I am reading very negative things about FB and even if I was looking for a new job I would not want to be FB..

They are collecting resumes to sponsor someone's Greencard and maybe meet the Labor Deaprtment's "requirement" that they are unable to find "qualified" candidates

Just wait until you pop up on Amazon's radar. I swear that company has about 30% of all the recruiters in the free world, and none of them talk to each other.

You must be new to tech. This is unfortunately very, very normal.

All I need is an Apple recruiter and I will have my FAANG bingo.
