it is completely and utterly convoluted with friends hiring friend who are hiring friends and hiring their friends. EVERYWHERE

I worked at Splunk but also left. I think it's a lot of folks that have that "big boy" syndrome. It doesn't help that the mgmt that was there for last few years gave people a prime example of how to be a terrible manager. Splunk managers know they can't manage the same way in real tech companies. Splunk is a hodge podge of software; and like that product they just did EOL, canI imagine what they gonna tell those people. I think ppl get there and think they're actually respected in the cyber community, but it's really just an app that does analytics. There are TONS of them. once companies actually realize they can spend 50% less and do same, they wont need splunk.
What insecure person who can’t get a job on their own came up with that first response hahaha
Just seeing this. Left splunk while back. This happens so much it’s pathetic. And what’s worse if person A is a POS there is a solid chance person B is just as bad if not worse. The splunk culture was the worst I’ve ever seen. And the talent was pathetic. Saw people who used splunk for like 6 months and became “experts” in various roles. They get on the calls and customer is like well can we do this? Person is like hmmmmmmmmm
Love the condescending-out-of-touch answer of the first response. splunk.
hm, seems like justification for creating an echo chamber. Also i think the word TALENTED is being used generously here based on my experience with Splunk. It seems like its just more like "lets just hire people i know and make an empire." Anyways, it seems to be doing wonders for our company culture and stock price
Haven't been in the IT field very long, huh? That's how it goes.
Talented people network with other talented people. They like working together, and they end up at the same places as a result. Friends tell friends about open positions at their company. If they're good enough, they get hired. Happens all the time.
