They have engineered a nightmare having so many models of compressors it has caused something that use to be simple over complicated. I can see having a more costly modle vrs a cost effective modle but they couldn't stop at that. All the down time due to change overs all the parts needed to make comparable models all the chances of misbuilds due to the overwhelming amount of models has made a work day so stressful. Engineering department has destroyed Copeland. Old models stay, new models keep on being developed. If a toothbrush works why keep redesigning it, when it's job is to clean your teeth and it does that.

They need to move locations, Lebanon is a dead zone.
Emerson can't say no to new models when customers ask, even if it's a small change. The scroll compressor has been technologically maxed out so cutting costs is the only way to keep Copeland competitive. The thing is LG and Samsung are willing to take a loss in order to take marketshare away. Though most of their models are of lesser quality, the big OEMs care more about cost than quality at this point. Couple that with stressed workforce in Lebanon and it's a recipe for disaster long term.
Copeland has had a good run but corp mgt has messed it up. Time to move on.
