My local Macys in Lee Summit, MO is closing this spring. This store opened in 2008 and it's a standalone store. Very nice layout inside. I will post pictures of the liquidation sale as it starts. The Independence Macys just closed last year. This leaves three in the KC metro.

Macy's never listened to what the market wanted - and still doesn't. KC and STL are the same thing. Macy's thinks it can "tell us" what we want, and that sh-t isn't flying around here.
When May Co. operated The Jones Store and Famous-Barr in these markets before that trashheap Macy's bought them out they made sure their stores carried what the local market wanted.
I predict in another 2-3 years, maybe sooner, they will exit the KC market and I wouldn't be surprised for them to give up on STL too. Most of their STL stores, with the exception of two, are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy past their designed life span and they don't put a nickel into upkeep or maintenance.
I will not post photos on here since that isn't a option. Just wanted to let you guys know.
