Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Great Resignation!

Anyone planning to resign in the New Year? Many folks are discontent, but are they discontent enough? What would push you over the edge? Bad pay increase? Better pay offer somewhere else? More of the same old BS?

I think there will be some who leave after bonuses, but not many. Seems like most leave soon after they get a job offer somewhere else.
If you don’t have a new job lined up…
If you’re going back to school in September, why not milk a few more months of pay out of shell? If you’re ready to retire early, why not wait till another package comes? You know it’s going to be every few years now.

Do yourself a big favor. Take the next severance package that is offered. You can either do it on your timeline, or wait until they cut you loose on their timeline. Be in charge of your career and do not allow some HR a$$ho-e/ b!tch to end it. Most of the time they could not even pick you out in a police lineup. In the end, your just an expense to them.

Why would anyone leave the gravy train without being paid to leave? Makes no sense to me. It’s not better somewhere else.

Have heard a lot of people will be resigning once bonuses are paid (or once they announce that there won't be a bonus)

Look for lots of resignations announced March 1st. This is what they want, though.

Working on it. Others have hinted. The same thing pi----g me off. Bad management choices made by arrogant, sheltered privilege.
