Incompetent middle management

I was at Enbridge 5 years. I believe that was too long. In those 5 years, I completed some of the most challenging and high impact projects, but when it came to advancement opportunities, I watched how middle management chose candidates based on nepotism, bias and who was in what clique. I moved on and found a better opportunity. I always say I didn’t leave enbridge, I left the incompetent middle management. There is no real way to progress in this organization based on merit and skills.

Nah you left more likely because you’re the incompetent one which is why you couldn’t get a promotion. This site is full of people like you. YOU are in charge of your career and if you were that good you’d have got the promotion. Truth hurts sometimes.
