Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

TD on resume

I am trying to find a new job but honestly, I am a bit ashamed to have so many years of experience in TD on my resume. Is there any value in having TD on resume when looking for a new job? Or just the opposite? That would not surprise me either, considering the reputation of this company.

Yes! The positive isn’t TD, but for me personally, potential employers really liked the longetvity on my res.

Best thing that ever happened to me was being laid off by Teradata. Decent package and right to retirement. I know if I hadn’t been able to retire it would have been hard to get another job with my years at the sinking ship. Employers wonder why Teradata is having so much trouble and you’re still there

It definitely hurts. Makes you look legacy and risk-averse. Get out as soon as you can. Why would you stay longer?

I recently jumped the ship, after 5+ years. I had a positive experience overall with Teradata on my resume. That said, YMMV. All the best with your search!

It seems to be hurting my job search. I’ve applied for jobs with the exact same title at other companies only to be immediately rejected without even a phone screen.
