Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

Employee Surveys

Remember those? When leadership sent surveys to employees asking for input on how they felt things were running?

Yeah, never happening again

I’m thinking of applying for a position in Chemicals. If the people are leaving then it’s go-time for some of us!

My input on the surveys was to hire more unqualified employees (at half the cost) with degrees from sketchy universities, operating out of 3rd world countries. Promote them into management and the worker bees will all chant "LET'S GO BAKER" & "BUILD BACK BETTER!"

In Chemicals, the vaccine mandate is not the reason why people are quitting. Its the management who selectively chooses who they want to promote and develop. They have removed the Technology leader 4 years ago but the replacement is a worse one.

Not only did we lose our jobs we also get a much lower pension than if we stayed employed because BH pension was one of the best. We also lose out on compound interest so it's a triple whammy loss bro. We all poorer for this mess at BH.

The incompetence of Aberdeen stoneywood & kirkhill drilling management is well documented and well known but we need to keep going on about it to remind ourselves of the clowns who ran aberdeen office into the toilet.

Do aberdeen office think they will go back to drilling biz again after the shambles of the stoneywood / kirkhill drilling dept? In your dreams mate. They ki---d that service through gross incompetence. BH pulled out of drilling because of the mess in Aberdeen.

Back in the olden times management actually came and sat down and talked to employees outside of Houston.

No layoffs planned, in fact they’re afraid of a mass resignation because of the vaccine mandate. There is talk of extending it out right reversing a mandate. They’re afraid of what is coming.

So HR person. Spill the beans….

How are things looking for us in the coming months.

BTW, I knew it was all a dog and pony show. But honestly, it could be a great way to remove the cancerous managers that are bringing things down.

I’m in HR and have been in the meetings where those are reviewed. We talked about it like we care and everyone makes a deal out of it. BUT no actions are taken and nobody cared as soon as the meeting was over. It’s typical baker cr-p, they say when thing to look good and don’t actually care or make change. All a dog and pony show.
