Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Nike

Is it true that Nike is pulling out of Macys? Still a lot of stuff in the website. Supposedly it was announced/rumored back in March but doesn’t look like anything happened, my local store still had a nice amount of Nike stuff about 6 weeks ago.

Nike is pulling out of a lot of retailers because they want to be viewed as more exclusive and Macy's didn't make the cut lol As poster below said, Nike is HOT right now but they want to also be seen as cool to the high-end streetwear customer. They just don't see Macy's as a cool retailer.

Nike dropped Macy's because they were sick of the buyers who wouldn't change their assortment and left it boring year after year after year after year after year. How bored were you in your store's Nike department. It is one of the coolest brands on Earth right now, and the New York buyers made Nike look like Dollar General.
Macy's thought they were better than Nike and didn't treat them with the respect they deserved.
Macy's lead merchants, some who are no longer at Macy's, ignored Nike and treated them poorly. Macy's merchant leaders were asleep at the wheel and Nike left.

Nike is tired of seeing their merchandise from Macy’s and other retailers being sold on the streets by organized crime groups. Just one of the 30 reasons they pulled out.

I believe that Nike may have gone back on that decision. We found that Nike would be pulling out of JCPenney at the same time as Macy’s. Fast forward to now, and all JCPenney stores have disposed of Nike branding and have no remaining Nike products. Macy’s, however, is still receiving shipments. Maybe due to the partnership with Finish Line?

I remember Nike made a announcement, they were pulling out of 9 retailers this year. Macy's was one of the retail stores. Expect if your store had a finish line, they will be receiving shoes. This past October was suppose to be the last shipment of Nike apparel at Macy's but I guess not.

I guess that is why Macy’s tried all year to accommodate Nike?
Nike is tired of Macy’s hurting the Nike brand with their endless promotions , dirty stores and merchandise strewn all over the place.
Have you ever been in a Di-k’s? This is the environment Nike wants. Nike outlet stores look way better than Macy’s out of fashion stores.
Athletes and young people don’t shop Macy’s. They want a store that is trendy not dowdy.

It's the other way around.
Nike still using child labor, rhino hides, dirty diamonds on the soles.
So Macy said - No more of your poisonuss goods.

I agree with that.
