I can only dream that one day the layoff fairy gets rid of the as&@$le bully managers. Work environment would be so much nicer.

Layoffs are never done: “we’re always examining the workforce to ensure it fits the needs of the organization*” or some such is what they’ll say.

*Bloated (and bloating) management class excluded, as always.

If you get laid off before December 31st, HR will include the 6% retirement contribution you would have gotten on January 1st as a part of the severance. They save even more if if you leave before the end of February.
