Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Job listings (very few)

Just an observation how very few job listings there are, headed into the busiest Month of shopping.

These are all the Kmart jobs, for example (total of 25 job openings across a total of 12, non-closing stores):

https://jobs.sears.com/en-US/search?facetcompany=kmart

But of those 25 jobs, a total of 10 are in USVI, 4 are in Guam, and 1 opening in PR. So that leaves only 10 Kmart job openings in the mainland U.S., out of which, 5 of them are in Bridgehampton NY. The other stores have just onesies and twosies.

We're about 1 Month from Christmas, and only 10 stateside job openings total. Lame. And, ROFL, LMAO, 5 of them are in some sawed off store, in a Beach resort town, on the eastern end of Long Island, which about 7 people visit between Labor Day & Memorial Day.

Funny.

Sorry, I meant the thread hasn't been active for 1 Week. My comment about posts in January 2021 were meant for another thread. But the fact still remains, this thread was bumped for no good reason. Unless someone has a new store closing job to post, don't bump this. Mods, you can delete my comment and the 2 below mine, to un-bump this dormant thread.

Moderators please remove my comment, as well as the useless trolling one below. He just did that to bump a dormant thread because he's bored. This is an old thread that doesn't need to be bumped unless someone has something relative to the topic of this ancient thread. No reason for this to show up on top of active threads, as it hasn't really been commented upon since January 2021.

All he did was write "OK" and it needlessly bumped this thread to the top of the active list. This cr@p has to stop NOW.

Welp, looks like that Mimai remodel listing is back. It is one of the (LMAO) only 12 Kmart job listings on Earth:

https://jobs.sears.com/en-US/search?facetcompany=kmart

Of those 12 listings, 7 are combined in USVI, and 1 is in PR (with oddly zero in Guam). So that leaves only 4 Kmart job openings stateside, 2 in Miami, and 2 in Bridgehampton. Of course, that's just what I'm reading right now. The listings fluctuate occasionally.

I'm not sure why anyone want to look for work in a dying company? There are plenty of good jobs out there with growing companies. For your own sake, do something sane. Imagine, telling your friends or family you are going to work for Sears/Kmart. In the 80s they would have congratulated you. Today, you will be a laughingstock.

It appears that the goofy listing, for Miami's remodel has been pulled. So either they hired all the help they needed already, or maybe they cancelled plans for it. They still have a generic Part-Time, job available though.

Plenty of jobs open in Sears Home Services if you want to reschedule customers all day long because the techs ain't coming. Literally. All. Day. Long.

Type for yourself. I have typed nothing here, that looks stupid. It's impossible to SAY anything on a written message board. We can only type here.

Well how about I keeping SAYING instead of TYPING. Now we both look stupid. Get a grip.

I'm not "SAYING" anything here. I'm "TYPING". There is no audio in this website. And for someone who doesn't give a sh-t, you sure keep reacting to it a lot. SAVE FOR SAVE FOR SAVE FOR. All the Kmarts are closing, SAVE FOR 12. All the full line Sears have closed, SAVE FOR 18 (plus lots of small formats). There are no Kmart jobs available, SAVE FOR what's on the website. I'm almost done with this post, SAVE FOR THIS.

I couldn’t give two sh--s if you say save for, just think it sounds stupid, but go ahead and type it as much as you want.

Thanks OP. Also, when I follow your link, and filter those Kmart jobs to only Full-Time, there are only 3 jobs:

https://jobs.sears.com/en-US/search?facetcompany=kmart&facetemploymenttype=jtft

Of those 3 jobs, two of them are in Bridgehampton, and one is in, (where else?) USVI.

Ya, I'm 100. That makes me too old to be a boomer. But regardless, I'm going to keep writing "save for", especially now that I Know you don't like it. Save for, save for, save for. Try and stop me. SAVE FOR, SAVE FOR. I respect everyone's opinion, SAVE FOR yours. Your mother didn't like any guys, SAVE FOR me. Let's go on.

Thanks for that. And 1 of those listings you posted, was for that goofy "remodel" of the Miami Kmart, LOL. 🤣😅😁😃😆😂😄🙄

To think, if this what they're hiring now, there will be almost zero openings in January, when the stores are Dead, save for maybe those Guam and Tutu locations, which always seem to be hiring for some reason, hahaha.

If you switch to the Sears side, one fairs slightly better, as there are bout 69 job openings, which is a bit more proportion, to the amount of non-closing stores. Some of these, are small format locations, as in Alaska:
