Our store manager was out for a bit and is coming back this week. The colleagues are doing cartwheels while the People Leaders are freaking out. The the People Leaders, with the exceptions of two, did not care at all. We, the colleagues, are happy that our store is going to be here to pull us through December. Our store is falling apart, now with our leader coming back, we might be able to piece it back together. The days of being lazy and hiding in their offices is about to end.

I have worked for a lot of sales leaders in and outside of retail. The best manager that I ever worked for was a store manager at Macy's. Of course, he did not come up through the Macy's system, he came from the JC Penny's corporate office. When he came to our store in August, we had the 8th place Scorecard in our Region. When we finished the Fall Season, we had climbed to 2nd! The store that beat us was the one that he came from. They had such a lead we could not catch them. Macy's moved him to a bigger store and we got a new manager that was hired into the ELP Program straight out of college. She turned out to be the one of worst managers that I ever worked for. She changed everything and we went from 2nd in the Region to last in the District.

all stores managers ive had seen are all covering up incompetence from under management and AP and Ops/vs they all sit in their offices watching emails roll in and do not do anything ..
You are lucky to have a store leader who is truly a “Leader” . Our store leader is useless, afraid of confrontation, unable to make decisions, and spends countless hours just covering up the incompetence.
