Thread regarding Allscripts layoffs

I miss the old Allscripts

People who complain that this has become a very bad place to work often forget to say that it was not always like this. Once upon a time, Allscripts was a place where the most competent people were respected and where hard work was far more valued.

Is it possible that this will never again be a company that it used to be just a few years ago?

Hard for me to accept it.

Allscripts acquired Misys (previously Medic) October 2008. Things went to sh&t after Glen left, as the current executives are only concerned about the quarterly earnings, not about strategic growth.

It was spelled Eclipsys. and no we'll never go back to that. PB and the greed have taken over. Values have changed. If new leadership came in possibly, but highly unlikely.

Eclipsys and Allscripts merged in 2010. Prior to that Misys and Allscripts merged in 2008. Misys acquired the former Medic Computer Systems in 1997. Allscripts acquired A4 in 2006. A4 acquired Compusense in 2003. There are a lot of old memories for many of us that had our start with one of the formers companies. But a lot of things have changed in healthcare, in technology, and in the world since those days. Like it or not, we work for Allscripts now. I am pretty sure we will never go back to what you think were the good ‘ole days…it just does not exist.

PB and his greedy minions ruined the company. Time to jump boat before it is too late. Changed my job about 3 months ago. Way better pay and much more interesting projects. I do not have to listen clueless, so called leaders to tell me how I should do my job.

You say it was Eclypsis not Eclipsis and yet you wrote Eclipsis from that point on in your post. Please make up your mind.

It was Eclypsis. Not Eclipsis !!! Also, a merger is supposed to bring together two equal parts. There was only one senior leader from Eclipsys (head of development) that landed on the Allscripts executive team and he was gone after a year, so is it was basically an acquisition as the rest were sent packing. It was a big mistake by both companies. If Eclipsys had put solid development resources toward the Ambulatory module, Sunrise might have survived because at the time of the "so-called" merger, Sunrise had a very impressive customer base. It wasn't until after this time that the high end customers started leaving for Epic.

Don't know what Misys is. Eclipsis was the company that merged with Allscripts in 2010.

When was this? Before the merger with Misys? Or was this before the merger with Allscripts?
