Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

contractors...... come on.

so i came across a line issue today.

Contractor did a install at a restaurant attached to a hotel. The Hotel had a mini node for just a hotel channel lineup that typically doesn't have return or data channels. A contractor did a data modem install for the business and job was completed.

Later a second contractor was sent out for a trouble call for "no internet". How did the first contractor do a data install on a mini node with no data service to start with? Then the second contractor had no idea what the mini node even was and turned in a line call to fix a no return issue. WTF. That's 2 contractors that don't know sh-t and shouldn't be doing this work. In the end he was told its not serviceable. Management needs to get off their a-s and train these guys or weed out the ones that are useless. Of course in the end you cant really blame the contractors. This is a issue with who hired them and who isn't training them.

If it’s a mini node and it’s getting signal from the headend have isp split it off the Fwd and return data off a regular node and combine it so they can have data it’s been done before

I worked with altice for 12+years and I didn't know what a mini node was either and many other In house tech don't no either because I asked my ex co-workers.😂😂 So Dude! it's not just the Contractors. By the ways the in-house techs Don't f..king care either and not interested in learning.
And Stop crying like a baby and blaming the contractors all the time, you and all the in-house are not perfect. . And put this words in your head, altice love contractors!!

Nobody cares. Not even Altice cares and neither should you. People are still complaining about shoddy contractor work like it matters when we all know it doesn’t. This is the future of this company. Eventually, the work will be done exclusively by subcontractors and despite having to send them back for the same issues, it will cost Altice a fraction of what it was to run a business without all that overhead from in house employee.

I wouldn’t bring any of these issues up to anyone’s attention. I would let the customers do the talking.

This is the future of cable TV. It will all be subcontracted the next few years. Keep making TBL calls someone will fix it eventually. Move on if you can.
