Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

I guess everything stayed the same

I left over a year ago after finishing college. Came back to see if anything has changed and from what I’ve read - the answer would be no. What I cannot understand is if you see the company as a sinking ship and can see the “writing on the wall,” are you there just milking it for whatever you can get, or are you the type to criticize a company yet are too lazy to do something about it? I’m so glad I no longer work with any of you.

Some people do have really tough life situations, but I wouldn't discount what the OP is saying. My store was a mixture of young people doing nothing with their lives and nasty retirees. I'm not sure if some of the older people actually needed the job but man were they toxic. They'd fight over the some of the pettiest sh-t. These people were really, really difficult to work with.

Well your life is obviously so pathetic that you're here posting about a company you don't work for anymore. The college education hasn't helped you so far.

We are also glad we are not working with you. Come back in 20 years when you understand what the real world is about.

Be careful of assuming everyone's situation is the same. Some people are juggling multiple jobs just to survive or keep their home. They do not have the luxury of leaving. Taking classes may not be an option. Overworking yourself in a Pandemic could make you vulnerable to the Delta variants and very problematic if you don't have insurance. Even worse if you haven't been vaccinated. (That shouldn't be a problem) Also, for some situations, the job market is really not that great.

I agree with your post... if you giving up on bettering yourself or trying build a life for yourself Macys isnt that ticket to that life. Go learn new job skills. do not give up just keep going.. Macys doesn't care about you or your cat.. the day you leave you will be replaced by another knucklehead. while you stay brush up online take classes explore ways out of the place

Staying in an unsatisfying job is only about laziness for a small number of people. There are many reasons people don't leave a job. You'll see as you career progresses. There is no one size fits all.
