A person who attended a Fritz lunchbox talk or whatever the he-l he calls it shared that he spent some time bragging about how he paid for the rights to name a snow leopard at the Henry Doorly Zoo. In fact, he can tell them to bring the snow leopard out anytime he wants to see it. While people were fired, furloughed, and put on RULA, he used his profits to name a giant cat at the zoo. How out of touch is this guy to think working people who make a small fraction of his salary (not to mention all of his bonus, stock, perks, etc) can even relate or be impressed with this act of malarky? While people suffered to make ends meet and lost their jobs, he is proud to share with employees that paying for the rights to name a giant cat is one of his top priorities. To he-l with the over-worked people who make this company go 'round and round; snow leopards take precedence! Thats one of those things he should keep to himself. Most of us are just existing and not engaged anymore. Enjoy your cat, Lance! You've earned it!

Think about the personality type that the average CEO has to have. They have to grind, fight, be intelligent, and manipulate people to their advantage to make their way to the top. It’s really no wonder why CEOs are the way they are. It’s how the system is constructed. What we’re left with at the top are charming, smooth-talking narcissists. Saints can’t climb the corporate ladder.

I attended one of Lance’s “town halls/charm 101 meetings” a couple of years ago. He mentioned that UP was working on a doggy daycare for employees. Still haven’t seen the doggy daycare, and my chihuahua is getting lonely. Thanks Lance.
