Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Looks like it's not possible for everyone here to get the same treatment?

I just hope this time around everyone gets the same treatment as everyone else. Last time we went back to the office hardly anyone was coming in. My group came in until we were sent home in late July-August. Other groups were allowed to WFH and others not allowed. If someone gets to WFH because they don’t want to put their kids in daycare then others should be allowed to stay home. It is hard to explain to employees why certain ones get to stay home and others don’t, and it creates bad blood between co-workers. If people have a medical reason or their child does that is a different story, but not finding daycare should not be an excuse anymore.

I am on here a week later and see you hit and missed. I am not pregnant and was thinking of someone just diagnosed with something and not wanting everyone to find out. People have all sort of stuff going on in their lives and everyone doesn't like when others make a fuss/pity them or draw conclusions about their illness.

As for pregnant women / woman, keep your eyes out for this person because maybe you can identify who your bitter coworker is. The rest of us don't care and good on OXY for allowing you to further WFH.

Do you believe that Oxys track record of bigotry and persecution lends itself to everyone being treated equally? Get real.

Pregnancy is not a valid reason unless it is a difficult pregnancy.

Guessing you are one of the pregnant women that does not want to RTW. I agree with you that pregnancy should be a valid reason to grant you a temporary extension to WFH, but just saying, it's pretty obvious who you are.

It's literally none of your business why others were allowed to stay home. Do you want to hear their very personal and medical reasons? Why concern yourself with these people unless it's your nature to try to find out and distribute all sorts of confidential and sensitive information about people, their families, their health. Honestly, grow up.

Obviously you haven’t been paying attention. The entire covid 19 scam and DIB campaign is about marginalizing employees and segregation. They claim inclusion but all it is doing is dividing everyone

Completely agree! People were allowed to give all kinds of excuses for not coming in. Unless it’s a medical or other serious issue, get back to the office or be let go!!

Why do you care so much about what others do? Just do your job and worry about you. Stop focusing on others. Life isn’t fair. Get on with it.
