I've worked 60+ hrs a week for over 5 years, have an excellent reputation for delivery, and yet I'm stuck as a JG4. There's no such thing as work-life balance at Shell, and demands only ever increase. Honestly, I'm looking for another job at this point because there's no future at Shell as far as I can see.
Good God, where do you work? In Downstream manufacturing, it was NEVER a thing and still isn't.
Speaking of Caring, you will soon get a letter from WeDon'tCareMark about cutting benefits. Cutting benefits is just a form of pay cut. It is a trend common to companies in decline.
It is a thing of the past like "Care For People."
Lol. Enjoy it while you can. There is always another divestment or reorg around the corner :). Then you can work on your life/life balance .....
So the reshaped org is just like the previous org, but with less people and more confusion? Who could have guessed…
The coffee klatsches and playdates are part of the job expectations, networking is a goal. Clearly you don't work for Shell.
Bruh… You work in O&G. Your work is your life. Didn’t they indoctrinate you at Shell Life?
"Most people I work with start work late, leave early, and spend half the day MIA or in coffee meetings."
Uh huh. Where do you work? Shell is still WFH.
I'm not sure this is a common issue. Most people I work with start work late, leave early, and spend half the day MIA or in coffee meetings.
Looks to be an issue for every facet at Shell and will continually get worse as they become more lean in structure.
Is this specific to my team or is it an issue for everybody?
