Thread regarding Optum layoffs

What are their strategies for the long run?

Cheap workers mostly equals costly consequences. That is my opinion. This company doesn’t seem to be thinking about the hidden costs of cheap labor at all.

That's why I completely agree with someone who said that Optum no longer has a long term strategy. Only in the long run will they see how much it costs to correct their mistakes.

More corporate brainwashing and simping. Unless you own the company (partner, board member) you're just an employee who's being used and abused. Maybe brush up on the corporate theme music and lyrics and wear a silly wig whilst chanting the corporate missionary statements. A lackie that can be let go anytime for any reason-employment at whim/will. usa, usa

See a lot of jealousy. Cheap labor?? Whoever is saying it must be working at some low paying jobs. Optum is better off with out people like you.

Youre correct. Sick of pressing 1 for English. That is the US language. It's like Russians having a choice to select German or Hebrew. what the heck?!? Why doesn't the US have an official language like every other country? Oh, cheap labor for capitalism

I'd rather try to understand an American, than try to understand a Foreigner. I'm am American. I don't want to press #1 for English. I shouldn't have to. I'm not a racist. I just believe in my people!

The US empire was a business enterprise masquerading as a country. Good luck to all. Please choose your parents wisely and pick a good place to be born.

Long term strategies? Making as much profit as they can off of the sick and the infirm. Putting/stuffing more dollars in their investors pockets as possible while paying their employees/work slaves as little as possible. That's the long term american strategy.

If boss needs to buy another yacht, island, lux car, it's more layoffs. That's how that corporate american strategy works

This is a company that is part of a larger company who can basically get away with just about anything if the price is right. Ever notice the mounting law suits? I think they pay to stay in business honestly.

I know of plenty US workers who can barely string a coherent sentence together. The lack of focus on quality staff - regardless of the location- is the biggest problem.

Classic PM triangle, cheap-fast-good.
Pick two.

It’s no secret which path Optum has chosen.
