Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Job searching

I work here as a cashier and I have been looking for a new job for almost 3 months now. It's a little depressing when everyone says that a new job is easier to find than ever. Yes, I could get a job at a company that is no better than Macy’s, but anything better I fail to get.
Someone asked a good question: where are these jobs that are easy to get?
And yes, I’ve noticed that the ones talking about how easy it is to get a job are mostly those who finally found it after many months of searching. Once they found it, then all of a sudden it was “simple and easy”.

We're missing a lot of context here. Where are you located and what is your background?

Yes, "sales associates" are pretty much cashier's, fitting room cleaners, and recovery now. Very little real "selling" beyond beauty and bug Ticket and fine jewelry. The OP us right to call him or herself a "cashier" now.

Macy's does not have cashiers. Work on your resume' with a correct job title & description. Look at macysjobs.com for accurate wording. You have learned useful skills. Don't sell yourself short. Best of luck, hope this helps!
