Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Im going to use the religious clause

General Electric will require all U.S. employees to get vaccinations for COVID-19 by Dec. 8.

Disclosed to company employees late last week, the move by the Boston-based conglomerate aligns the company with the White House's Safer Federal Workforce Task Force guidance that mandates vaccinations of federal contractors by early December.

Some workers may be excused from mandatory vaccinations by obtaining a medical or religious accommodation, the company said.

The decision affects some 7,000 workers at Evendale-based subsidiary, GE Aviation, which makes aircraft engines for both commercial and military jets. General Electric employs 56,000 workers in the U.S. and 174,000 worldwide.

The move is also a reversal for the company that had previously said it was relying on masks and social distancing to keep employees safe amid the pandemic.

As late as last week, GE Aviation officials said the company was "strongly encouraging" vaccinations, but not requiring them "at this time."

Pretty easy to tell the difference from the gender confused sheep and the men on this thread. Instead of supporting others in their fight for freedom the sheep would rather baa and bleep as they cower at their keyboard. I for one, WILL NOT TAKE THE JAB!

Yes and the real dangers are suicides dr-g and alcohol abuse and depression which are all skyrocketing from this debacle. If you love thy neighbor give him his freedom.

The problem I see arising from the vaccine debacle is that some , though fewer, employees will still test positive for Covid-19 and sent home for 10 days with pay because the vaccine is not 100% effective in prevention and the spreading of the virus. Masks will remain mandatory. Variants will emerge. The rise and fall of cases will remain. Vaccination will be ongoing. Look at what is happening in Israel . One of the highest vaccinated countries in the world. The cycle will will only slowly go away and in the meantime our economy and supply chain will suffer from our own misdoings. A company of so many bright individuals have succumbed to a false belief and false hope.

Not a catholic but the pope took the shot.

Most anyone (Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Free-thinker) will have problems explaining how though shall not ki-l or love thy neighbor as thyself aligns with refusing a vaccine that can protect helpless children still too young for shots

I really don't see the point of this. Doesn't make a difference if most of the workers at GE are healthy, sick, alive, or dead. The productivity/output will still be the same. Hate me all you want, you know I'm right and that's why you hate me!

I’m calling in to walk the line! All jabless walkers unite and create a cat walk strike.

I don’t want to loose my GE job. I’ve been laid off and I couldn’t find a job paying more than $14 an hour. I have no marketable skills to offer other than having all the answers and knowing all problems.

Although I don’t solve them I talk a good talk and I’m going to have to get use to walking. After this pointless march with a couple (if we are lucky) union slugs.

We are going to look weak on the local news also everyone that see’s the news cast will know who did not take the jab. Well then walk or don’t walk? Walk for what the jabless union slugs? Loose a days pay? This could be considered a catwalk strike right?

Who has the guts and for what glory? Is it a pointless for a cold walk of shame? Will it bring glory to the jabless? I can almost bet maybe 5-10 people will go on this cat walk strike and they will be 5-10 fired.

That will be 10 less layoffs, then you take the jabless maybe 100 plus the v rips if any. Maybe a 30 person layoff in the Schenectady union campus. 301Walkers Catwalk

Clearly management has chimed in. Try to scare you and tell you what religion is and is not. I don't need luck, I am prepared. The argument against the religious exemption is so weak its laughable. Only a naive debater would want to defend that side of an issue.

If you have had any vaccination shots in the past (i.e. flu, tetanus, measles, mumps, rubella, polio, hepatitis, etc.) it will be difficult, if not impossible, to claim any type of exemption, including a religious exemption. Good luck trying that avenue. Just get a shot for yourself and protect yourself and your family from this dreaded virus. Just think how painful it will be for your family to bury you if you die from Covid, and it could have been prevented with a simple vaccination. I just had friends who buried their daughter (41, mother of 5) who refused the shot and died from COVID.

I wish anybody luck with the religious clause, but I'm afraid that you would have to be the pope himself to be exempt, GE is going to be strick like no other. I hear that GE is going to stop paying in the US dollar on are checks, they are going to go to Reichsmarks, they find that to be more fitting.
