This is a curious situation indeed...

Class 1’s are publicly traded companies…Yes we fall under the RLA yet it’s traded daily on the NYSE . The USPS employees are not required to Vax ? It the United States Postal Service ? Which hedge fund is trading in USPS stocks ?

It's all about looking good to the shareholders, always has been, and always will be. I have my own opinion of the mandate, but don't feel like sharing it. There's too many people that get too easily offended by what some people say, because they don't agree with their thinking. The issue with BNSF possibly not having a mandate probably has a lot to do with the fact that they're privately owned. I don't know about the other class 1's, and really don't care if they do. I left the UP because I got tired of the PSR BS. When Dec. 8th comes around, we're going to see how well the mandate worked for them. I hope they're ready for what might happen.

If UP is a federal contractor, then that means the limo companies are subcontractors . And that means UP needs to raise the pay for all limo drivers to comply with the minimum wage for all federal contractors per the executive order issued. Let’s see if they do that.

This would be interesting if anyone was going to leave UP because of the vaccines, but that’s not going to happen. There will be a lot of talk and threats, but in the end only a few will actually leave. Same thing that always happens here. Tons of complaining, little action.

BNSF is just waiting to see how many brave souls walk away from UP jobs before committing to any vaccine mandates.
Not a good time to lose help with the logistics nightmare going on right now, and in that aspect BNSF is wiser.

UP is not a federal contractor unless you consider anyone that does absolutely any business ever with the fed gov a federal contractor then in that case the whole planet is. They don’t have UP employees working on government installations.
