The closer the holiday season gets, the more anxious I am. It has already become horrible, and I can't even imagine what it will look like in the coming weeks.

Do not be anxious. There is nothing to be done or can be done. Just grin and bear it. The Macy's universe is half good and half bad. There is conservation of goodness and badness. One cannot change this ratio. It is timeless and is unforgiving of those who dare attempt change. Accept both as they are part of the natural order in the Macy's universe.

Some advice, we sell clothing, cosmetics and some home goods. There is only so much one person can do. Take a minute and laugh out loud at customers who believe they are the most important person in the world and Macys would crumble with out that clearance sale item they just tossed on the counter (wanting to use coupons of course).
Take a minute and laugh at the endless go back rods and piles ( or small mountains) of clothing left in fitting rooms when they ask 'How is recovery going'?
Its retail and there are better retailers to work for than Macys. The work load this season will be unmanageable this is a fact. Everyone in the stores (Store VP on down) knows it. Depending on the position a person has will determine how much they admit that fact.
The madness has already begun.
