All you have to do is pretend to work and you're golden. The managers have no idea what they're doing or what you're supposed to be doing so there's nothing to worry about. Considering this place has been treating us like cr-p for several years now, I feel zero guilt doing this. I used to give it my all and never get rewarded for it. Now I'm getting paid for doing nothing. Can't beat that.

Great comp if you're new. Just rest and vest. If you're a loyal employee who came from acquisition and making 50k less per year than you should, then look elsewhere! I am learning that the hard way and should have left as soon as we got acquired.
Anyone pretending doesn't pretend for too long here. I've been in companies where people pretend years in a row. I have seen such kind of folks being chop faster than I ever expected.
It is a competitive environment and the reason is that everyone wants to stay around for the RSUs and the decent bonus.
mon u should talk to software people... lots of rest/vest but it's the managers doing not worker bee. they recruited friends and family...all they do is golf, eat, fun and games....

Broadcom is a sh1t show that pays well. If you like to wrestle pigs in the mud while enjoying it, this place is for you. Just watch out when they send you to the butcher's shop... chance of that happening is once a year.
Stay busy, talk a good game, and work only a little bit harder than your competition and you will rake in those RSUs... until Octane decides to get rid of more people. This place is boring but it pays well.
