Thread regarding Ford layoffs

and what are the big plans for employees?

Some of the company's big plans are:

  • 40% electric car sales by 2030
  • invest $11.4 billion in new facilities to produce EV and batteries

What worries me the most is that we hear the least about company's plans on how to improve the workplace. Will employees have to become increasingly dissatisfied in order for Ford to fulfill its grand plans?

Discussions with upper management have stated that they foresee combustion engines being around for at least 20-25+ years. Programs like 5.0L will be axed though.

Corporate Welfare at it’s finest!

Let’s all make sure we get those 30,000 steps in during the work day in our Ford walking clubs. 30,000 steps / 100 steps per minute = 300 minutes = 5 hours Ford pays the walkers to walk every day.
What do they do with the other 3 hours a day, well lunch, errands and Ford social media.

They are turning the company into a day care center. The home page is filled with nothing but puff pieces about special groups and games. The latest offering is Ford + Bingo, I kid you not.

This is what we've become

The company is already started to offshore jobs. Quite a few of the PD jobs going to Mexico. Also with only 10% moving parts in an EV you will also see 30-40% labor reduction in the hourly ranks too. The older commodities engineering is going south. Despite the "FAMILY" talk you get make no mistake the hammer is going to drop over the next 1-4 years. But don't worry According to Bill we are still one big happy family.

The Ford family does not care about employee satisfaction. They care about profitability and maintaining control of their company. In their eyes, employees are expendable.

I’ll tell you this. Remember that bog push Trump made to keep jobs in the US. That ended.
